Zaditen Syrup (Ketotifen Fumarate)

Do’s

• Take Zaditen syrup exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, considering dosage, frequency, and duration of treatment.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to ensure an even mix of the medication.
• Use the measuring spoon provided with the medication to measure the exact dose prescribed by your healthcare provider. Don't rely on household spoons for measurement.
• Zaditen syrup can be taken with or without food.

Don'ts

• Don't exceed dosage. Never take more Zaditen syrup than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't skip or stop early. Complete the full course of treatment as directed by your healthcare provider, even if symptoms improve. Stopping early can increase the risk of allergy symptoms returning.
• Don't use it for other conditions. Zaditen syrup is meant to treat allergies. Don't use it for other conditions without consulting your healthcare provider.

Common side effects:

• Cystitis (burning or pain when passing urine)
• Dizziness
• Dry mouth
• Hyperactivity, irritability, or nervousness
• Disturbed sleep
• Irritation
• Agitation
• Insomnia (difficulty sleeping)
• Sedation
• Conjunctival inflammation

Serious side effects:

• Seizures (fits) 
• Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Zaditen syrup, contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Do not take Zaditen syrup if you are allergic to ketotifen or any of the ingredients in the syrup.

Zaditen syrup may cause drowsiness, especially during the first few days of treatment. Be warned not to take charge of vehicles or machinery until you know how this medication affects you.

Zaditen syrup may potentiate (increase the effects of) CNS depressants, antihistamines, anticoagulants, and alcohol. If you are taking any of these medications, be sure to talk to your healthcare provider before starting Zaditen syrup.

Zaditen syrup should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Zaditen syrup may cause seizures in some people. If you have a history of epilepsy, be sure to talk to your healthcare provider before starting Zaditen syrup.
