Trusopt Eyedrops (Dorzolamide Hcl)

Do’s

• Wash hands before using Trusopt.
• Use as directed by your healthcare provider (usually 3 times a day).
• Tilt your head back, create a pouch with your lower eyelid, and aim the dropper there.
• Apply gentle pressure near your nose after instilling the drop.
• Use contact lenses out (wait 15 minutes to put them back in).
• Use regularly even if you feel well.
• Use other eye meds with proper spacing (10 minutes apart).
• Use eye drops before ointments.
• Wait for blurry vision to clear before driving or using machinery.

Don'ts

• Don't touch the dropper tip to your eye or anything else.
• Don't use Trusopt with contact lenses in.
• Don't use more than prescribed or stop using without talking to your healthcare provider.
• Don't rinse the dropper or use expired medication.

Common side effects may include:

• Temporary blurred vision
• Temporary burning/stinging/itching/redness of the eye
• Watery eyes
• Dry eyes
• Sensitivity of eyes to light
• Bitter taste
• Headache

Serious side effects may include:

• Vision changes
• Signs of a kidney stone: such as pain in the back/side/abdomen, nausea/vomiting, blood in the urine
• Yellowing of eyes or skin
• Dark urine
• Unusual tiredness or weakness
• Easy bruising/bleeding
• Signs of infection: such as sore throat that doesn't go away, fever, chills

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Trusopt eye drops, contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Tell your healthcare provider about any allergies you have, especially to Trusopt Drops or the preservative benzalkonium chloride.

Inform your healthcare provider about your medical history, particularly kidney disease, kidney stones, or liver disease.

Consult your healthcare provider if you develop an eye infection, or injury, or have eye surgery. They may advise you to use a new bottle of Trusopt Drops.

Disclose all medications, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal products, to your healthcare provider before any surgery.

Be cautious after applying Trusopt Drops, as your vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or activities requiring clear vision until your vision returns to normal.

Trusopt Drops should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary due to potential risks to the unborn baby. Discuss the benefits and risks with your healthcare provider.

It is unknown if Trusopt Drops pass into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding to weigh the benefits and risks.
