Travatan Z Eyedrops (Travoprost)

Do’s

• If available, read the leaflet provided by your pharmacist before starting to use Travatan Z and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your healthcare provider.
• Before applying the eye drops, wash your hands thoroughly to maintain proper hygiene.
• Tilt your head back slightly and look upward. Gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pouch.
• Hold the dropper directly over your eye and place one drop into the pouch created by pulling down the lower eyelid.
• Look downward and gently close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. You can place one finger at the corner of your eye (near the nose) and apply gentle pressure to prevent the medication from draining out. 
• If directed by your healthcare provider, repeat the same steps for the other eye.
• After each use, replace the dropper cap without rinsing the dropper.
• If you are using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes before applying them. It is recommended to use eye drops before eye ointments to allow the drops to enter the eye.
• Wait several minutes for your vision to clear before driving or operating machinery.
• Use Travatan Z regularly and at the same time each day to get the most benefit from it. 
• Even if you feel well, continue using the medication as prescribed, as most people with glaucoma or high pressure in the eye do not have symptoms.

Don’ts

• Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface to avoid contamination.
• Avoid blinking or rubbing your eyes after applying the medication.

• Eye irritation or redness
• Eye itching or burning
• Eye pain or discomfort
• Blurred vision
• Sensitivity to light
• Dry eyes
• Eyelash changes (increased length, thickness, or number)
• Eyelid redness or swelling
• Headache
• Cold or flu-like symptoms

Not everyone experiences these side effects, and some individuals may have no side effects at all. If you experience any unusual or persistent side effects, consult with your healthcare provider.

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, as well as any eye drops or ointments. Some medications may interact with Travatan Z; follow your healthcare provider's guidance on the timing and use of multiple eye medications.

If you have an eye infection or injury, inform your healthcare provider before using Travatan Z eye drops. They can assess whether it is safe to use the medication in such circumstances

Long-term use of Travatan Z eye drops may cause a gradual, permanent change in the color of the iris, resulting in a brown discoloration. This change is more likely to occur in individuals with mixed-colored irises (blue-brown, gray-brown, green-brown).

Some individuals may experience mild to moderate eye irritation, redness, itching, burning, or a feeling of something in the eye after using Travatan Z eye drops.

Travatan Z eye drops may cause changes in eyelashes, such as increased length, thickness, or darkness.

Follow the storage instructions provided with the medication. Travatan Z eye drops should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Discard the container four weeks after opening.
