Indication : Tinactin is an antifungal topical medication used to treat skin infections including athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm infections. It can also be used for infections of the scalp, palms, nails and soles of the feet.

Precaution : Consult with your physician before using Tinactin and tell them if you have any medical conditions, allergies, or if you are taking any other medications. Avoid contact with eyes, nose or moth. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding and discuss all risks and benefits.
Warnings : Do not wear tight or synthetic clothing until your infection is healed. A light cotton-gauze dressing can be used to protect clothing. It is not know if Tinactin can be harmful to an unborn baby or if it passes into breast milk. Keep out of reach of children.
Patient Family Information : Use Tinactin as directed by your physician or see the directions on the medication label for exact instructions. Wash your hands before and after use of Tinactin. Make sure that the affected area is dry and clean before application. Apply the lotion, spray, cream, gel or powder to the affected area twice daily or as directed for 2-6 weeks. Continue use for the full amount of the prescribed period even if you see improvement right away as your symptoms may improve before the infection has cleared completely. Do not wear bandages, dressings, or tight clothing that does not allow air circulation over the affected area unless directed to do so by your doctor. If you miss a dose of Tinactin, use it as soon as possible. If you do not remember until it is time for the next dose, skip the mixed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once to make up for a missed dose.
Contraindication : Do not use Tinactin if you are allergic to tolnaftate or any of the other ingredients in the medication.
Sever Side Effects : Serious side effects include: unusual or severe blistering, itching, redness, peeling, dryness, or irritation of the skin.
