Do’s

• The dosage of Sular is determined by your healthcare provider based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Follow their instructions carefully. They may start you on a lower dose and gradually increase it if necessary.
• Sular tablets should be taken by mouth once daily, as directed by your healthcare provider. Take it on an empty stomach or with a low-fat meal. 
• Swallow the tablets whole.
• Sular comes in different sustained-action forms with different strengths. Make sure to check with your healthcare provider to ensure you are taking the correct dose and form.
• Use Sular regularly and consistently to get the most benefit from it. Take it at the same time each day to help you remember. 
• Even if you start feeling well, continue taking the medication as prescribed, as most people with high blood pressure do not experience symptoms.
• Keep track of your blood pressure readings and inform your healthcare provider if your condition does not improve or gets worse. 

Don’ts

• Avoid taking Sular within 1 hour before or 2 hours after a high-fat meal, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
• Do not crush or chew the tablets, as it can cause the entire dose to be released at once, increasing the potential for side effects.
• Do not switch to a different strength or form without consulting your healthcare provider first.
• Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while using Sular. Grapefruit can interact with the medication and increase the chance of side effects. 

Common Side Effects:

• Swelling
• Headache
• Nausea
• Dizziness 

Serious Side Effects

• Symptoms of angina, such as chest pain or discomfort, shortness of breath, or pain radiating to the arm, shoulder, jaw, or neck 
• Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing
• Irregular heartbeat
• Fainting
• Severe dizziness
• Severe headache

Seek immediate medical attention if any of the listed serious side effects occur.
