Renova Cream, also known as tretinoin cream, is indicated for the mitigation (palliation) of fine facial wrinkles in patients who use comprehensive skin care and sunlight avoidance programs. It is used as an adjunctive agent as part of a broader skincare regimen.

Do’s

  • Before starting to use Renova Cream and each time you get a refill, read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions, consult your healthcare provider.
  • Gently clean your face with a mild or soapless cleanser and pat your skin dry. Wait for 20 to 30 minutes before applying Renova Cream.
  • Take a pea-sized amount of Renova Cream and apply it to your entire face lightly. Use just enough cream to cover your face. This should be done once a day before bedtime, or as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Wash your hands after applying the cream to avoid accidentally getting it in your eyes. If the cream accidentally gets into your eyes, flush them with large amounts of water and contact your healthcare provider if eye irritation develops.
  • The effects of Renova Cream may appear slowly, with most improvement seen within the first 6 months of use.
  • If Renova Cream is being used for acne, the condition may worsen initially before improving.

Don’ts

  • Avoid your eyes, nostrils, and mouth when applying Renova Cream.
  • Do not wash your face or apply any other skincare products for at least 1 hour after applying Renova Cream.
  • Skin irritation, including redness, peeling, dryness, and itching at the application site
  • Sensitivity to sunlight
  • Warmth or slight stinging sensation when Renova Cream is first applied

In rare cases, allergic reactions to Renova Cream may occur. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing, seek emergency medical help immediately.

This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or persistent side effects while using Renova Cream, consult your healthcare provider for further guidance.

Renova Cream can increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight. Protect your skin from the sun by wearing sunscreen and protective clothing. Patients who may have considerable sun exposure, such as due to their occupation, should exercise caution when using Renova Cream.

Renova Cream should be kept out of the eyes, mouth, angles of the nose, and mucous membranes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.

Do not use Renova Cream if you are also taking medications known to be photosensitizers, such as thiazides, tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, phenothiazines, or sulfonamides. Using Renova Cream in combination with these medications may increase the risk of augmented phototoxicity.

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult your healthcare provider before using Renova Cream. The safety of Renova Cream during pregnancy has not been established. If you become pregnant while using Renova Cream, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

It is not known whether Renova Cream passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding.

This is not an exhaustive list of warnings and precautions. Read the patient information leaflet provided with the medication and consult your healthcare provider for complete and personalized guidance.
