Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks, with or without aura, in adults. It is also used for the preventive treatment of episodic migraines.

The safety and effectiveness in children are unknown. Do not take this drug if you are allergic to rimegepant or any of its ingredients.

Follow your doctor's prescription exactly. Take Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) as directed for migraine treatment or prevention.

For acute migraine treatment, take 1 tablet as needed. Do not take more than 1 tablet in 24 hours. It is not known if taking more than 18 doses in 30 days is safe.

For preventive treatment of episodic migraine, take 1 tablet every other day.

To take Nurtec ODT:

  • Use dry hands to open the blister pack.
  • Peel back the foil and gently remove the tablet. Do not push it through the foil.
  • Place the tablet on or under your tongue. It will dissolve without water.
  • Take it immediately after opening. Do not store it outside the blister pack.

If you take too much, seek emergency medical help right away.

What are the ingredients in Nurtec ODT?

Active ingredient: rimegepant Inactive ingredients: benzyl alcohol, eucalyptol, gelatin, limonene, mannitol, menthol, menthone, menthyl acetate, sucralose, and vanillin

Common side effects include nausea, stomach pain, and indigestion. These are more common when Nurtec ODT is used for migraine prevention.

Serious allergic reactions may occur, even days after taking this drug. Seek emergency help if you experience:

  • Swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat
  • Trouble breathing

How should I store Nurtec ODT?

Store Nurtec ODT in the blister package that it comes in. Store it at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C). Keep this drug and all medicines out of the reach of children.
