Nilstat Cream (Nystatin)

Do’s

• Nilstat Cream is for topical use only. 
• Before applying the cream, make sure to clean and thoroughly dry the affected area.
• Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider for the specific dosage and length of treatment. The dosage and duration will depend on the type and severity of the fungal infection being treated.
• Typically, Nilstat Cream is applied twice a day, unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider. 
• Apply enough cream to cover the affected area and a small portion of the surrounding skin.
• After applying the cream, remember to wash your hands, unless you are using the cream to treat your hands.
• To ensure optimal results, use Nilstat Cream regularly at the same times each day.
• Continue using the medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms improve or disappear before the treatment duration is complete.
• Notify your healthcare provider if your condition persists after two weeks of treatment or worsens at any time.

Don’ts

• Do not wrap, cover, or bandage the treated area unless specifically instructed by your healthcare provider.
• Do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants if using Nilstat Cream in the diaper area for an infant.
• Do not apply Nilstat Cream in the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina.

Common Side Effects:

• Skin irritation or redness at the application site
• Itching or burning sensation

Severe or Long-Term Side Effects:

• Severe skin reactions: Although rare, severe skin reactions such as blistering, peeling, or severe redness may occur. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
• Allergic reactions: In rare cases, Nilstat Cream may cause severe allergic reactions. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, and hives. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention.
