Nexletol (bempedoic acid) is indicated for adults with primary hyperlipidemia to help lower LDL cholesterol levels when used with a cholesterol-lowering diet and statin medications. It is prescribed for individuals with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH), an inherited condition that causes high LDL cholesterol, and for those with heart disease who need additional LDL cholesterol reduction. What are the ingredients in Nexletol?

  • inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxyl propyl cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and sodium starch glycolate
  • tablet coating: partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, talc, and titanium dioxide
The most common side effects of Nexletol include:
  • symptoms of the common cold, flu, or flu-like

  • stomach pain
  • anemia
  • increased liver enzymes

The most serious side effects of Nexletol include:

Tell your healthcare provider if you take simvastatin or pravastatin, as combining these cholesterol-lowering medications with Nexletol may increase the risk of muscle pain or weakness (myopathy).
