Nexavar (Sorafenib) is used to treat kidney, liver, and thyroid cancer. It is indicated for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), and thyroid carcinoma that cannot be treated with surgery or radioactive iodine.
Sorafenib, the active ingredient in Nexavar, is a kinase inhibitor that works by blocking the action of abnormal proteins that signal cancer cells to multiply. By inhibiting these proteins, it helps slow down the growth and spread of cancer cells.
