Do's

• Take this medication by mouth as prescribed by your healthcare provider, typically once daily. Adults may take this medication with or without food, while children should take it with food. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or divide it, as doing so can lead to an increased risk of side effects.
• For Myrbetriq granules, the medication will be provided as a suspension prepared by your pharmacist. Prior to use, shake the bottle well for 1 minute and allow it to stand until the foam on top of the suspension dissipates (approximately 1 to 2 minutes). If the granules have not mixed well, shake the bottle well again for 1 minute and let it stand until the foam disappears. Measure the dose carefully using a special measuring device/spoon, disregarding any bubbles when measuring. Avoid using a household spoon as it may lead to an incorrect dose. Take the measured dose within 1 hour. Wash the special measuring device/spoon after each use and allow it to air dry.
• If the suspension will not be used for 2 or more days, shake the bottle well for 1 minute each day.
• The dosage of Myrbetriq is determined by your medical condition and response to treatment, while the children's dose is based on weight.
• Use this medication regularly to derive the most benefit from it. To aid in remembering, take it at the same time each day.
• Follow the specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider regarding the dosage and administration of Myrbetriq, as individual circumstances may vary.

Side Effects:

Having a bladder obstruction can make it difficult for urine to flow out, and taking Myrbetriq in this situation could increase the risk of urinary retention as a side effect. Your healthcare provider will determine if Myrbetriq is safe for you to take in this scenario.

Taking Myrbetriq can increase blood pressure, which could be particularly dangerous for individuals with untreated high blood pressure. Your healthcare provider can assess whether Myrbetriq is a safe treatment option if you have high blood pressure.

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including those for overactive bladder or other conditions, as Myrbetriq may affect the way other medicines work, and vice versa.

Myrbetriq may cause angioedema, and patients should promptly discontinue the medication and seek medical attention if they experience this effect.
