Myfortic (Mycophenolate) is used in conjunction with other medications to prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted kidney.

It is part of a class of medications known as immunosuppressants, which work to weaken the body's immune system in order to facilitate the acceptance of the new kidney as part of the body.

Mycophenolate operates by suppressing the body's defense system, or immune system, which in turn helps in preventing rejection of the transplanted kidney. This action is crucial in maintaining the stability and functionality of the transplanted organ.

Myfortic is typically used in combination with other medications as a part of a comprehensive treatment regimen following kidney transplantation.
