Lactaid Extra Strength (Lactase Enzyme - non Rx)

Indication : Lactaid Extra Strength tablets are used to help patients with lactose intolerance consume and enjoy lactose products. It is essentially an enzyme that aids the stomach in the digestion of milk sugars. Storage : Lactaid Extra Strength Tablets should be kept at room temperature in an area that is protected from heat. Lactaid tablets should not be refrigerated. Product Information : General Information : Precaution : Before taking Lactaid Extra Strength Tablets, tell your doctor if you are: pregnant; planning to become pregnant; breastfeeding; taking any prescription or nonprescription medicines; taking any herbal or dietary supplements; or if you have any allergies to any foods or medications. If you have diabetes, it is recommended that you consult with your doctor about how Lactaid Extra Strength Tablets may affect your blood sugar as well. Warnings : This medication should not be given to any children under four years of age. Patient Family Information: Take Lactaid tablets before eating any foods containing lactose. When starting this medication, take two tablets to begin with and adjust amount of medication to meet your needs. Generally, taking four tablets at a time will prevent any lactose intolerance symptoms. If symptoms persist after taking four tablets before eating food containing lactose, talk to your health-care provider. Tablets may be swallowed or chewed. Contraindication : If you are allergic to any of the contents in this medication, do not take Lactaid Extra Strength Tablets. Sever Side Effects: Severe side effects include the symptoms of an allergic reaction. Common Side Effects : Common side effects have not yet been identified with this product. If you think you are experiencing any side effects after taking Lactaid Extra Strength Tablets, notify your healthcare provider immediately.
