Kerydin Topical Solution is indicated for the treatment of onychomycosis, a fungal infection of the toenail, caused by Trichophyton rubrum or Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

Do’s

  • Before using Kerydin Topical Solution,  read the Patient Information Leaflet and Instructions for Use provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your healthcare provider.
  • Clean and dry the infected toenail(s) before applying the medication.
  • Use the medication only on the infected toenail(s) as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Typically, Kerydin is applied once daily for a duration of 48 weeks. Follow your healthcare provider's instructions regarding the duration of treatment.
  • If you are applying the medication to a child, an adult should do it for them.
  • Use the provided dropper to apply the solution to the infected toenail(s). Slowly squeeze the bulb of the dropper to apply enough solution to completely cover the toenail.
  • Use the dropper tip to gently spread the medication over the toenail, ensuring it reaches the edges and under the tip of the toenail.
  • Repeat the steps for each affected toenail.
  • After applying the solution, wait for about 2 minutes to allow it to dry completely before putting on socks, shoes, or other footwear.
  • If the solution comes into contact with the skin around the toenail(s), use a tissue to wipe off any excess solution.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water after applying the medication.
  • Use Kerydin regularly at the same time each day to get the most benefit from it.
  • Continue using the medication for the full duration prescribed by your healthcare provider, even if symptoms improve or disappear after a few days. Nail fungus treatment usually requires a long time for healthy nails to grow and replace the infected ones. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection.
  • If your condition does not improve or worsens, inform your healthcare provider.

Don’ts

  • Avoid getting the medication on any other part of your body. If it accidentally happens, wipe off the medication and rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Avoid using Kerydin near heat or an open flame because it is flammable.
