Keflex is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

It stops the growth of bacteria and helps to eliminate the infection.

Keflex is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

Misuse or unnecessary use of Keflex or any antibiotic can lead to reduced effectiveness of the medication.

Do’s

  • Take Cephalexin exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, typically every 6 to 12 hours.
  • Take it with or without food.
  • Shake the liquid suspension well before each dose and measure it carefully with the provided measuring device (not a household spoon).
  • Take Cephalexin for the entire prescribed duration, even if you feel better after a few days. Stopping it early can lead to the infection returning.

  • Inform your healthcare provider if your condition doesn't improve or worsens after taking Cephalexin.

  • Don't skip or stop taking Cephalexin without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Don't use a household spoon to measure the liquid suspension.
  • Don't take Cephalexin for a longer duration than prescribed.
