  • Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider.
  • The dosage of Jentadueto is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking. Make sure to inform your healthcare provider about all the products you use, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products.
  • To reduce the risk of side effects (such as upset stomach), your healthcare provider may advise you to start this medication at a low dose and gradually increase your dose. Follow their instructions carefully.
  • Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same times each day
  • Carefully follow the medication treatment plan, meal plan, and exercise program recommended by your healthcare provider.
  • If your condition does not improve or worsens (for example, if your blood sugar is too high or too low), inform your healthcare provider.

Discontinue Jentadueto if the patient's estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) falls below a certain level and at the time of, or prior to, certain medical procedures. Re-evaluate eGFR after the imaging procedure and restart Jentadueto if renal function is stable.

Patients should be informed that acute pancreatitis has been reported during the use of linagliptin. Persistent severe abdominal pain, sometimes radiating to the back, is the hallmark symptom of acute pancreatitis. Patients should discontinue Jentadueto promptly and contact their healthcare provider if persistent severe abdominal pain occurs.

The risk of hypoglycemia is increased when Jentadueto is used in combination with certain medications such as insulin secretagogues or insulin. Patients should be informed about this risk.

Risk factors for metformin-associated lactic acidosis include renal impairment, concomitant use of certain drugs, age 65 years old or greater, and having a radiological study with contrast. Patients should be informed about hypersensitivity reactions and associated risk factors.
