Dermasone Ointment (Clobetasol Propionate)

Do's

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after applying Dermasone ointment.
• Clean and dry the affected area as directed by your doctor.
• Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area only, as directed by your doctor.

Don'ts

• Don't apply Dermasone ointment to your eyes, nose, or mouth.
• Don't use Dermasone ointment on large areas of skin, especially for extended periods, unless directed by your doctor.
• Don't use Dermasone ointment for longer than prescribed by your doctor.
• Don't use Dermasone ointment on broken or infected skin.
• Don't stop using Dermasone ointment suddenly without talking to your doctor, especially if you've been using it for a long time.
• Don't bandage or wrap the treated area unless specifically instructed by your doctor.

Common Side Effects:

• Skin irritation, such as burning, itching, or redness at the application site.
• Dryness or peeling of the skin.
• Acne or worsening of existing acne.
• Increased hair growth at the application site.
• Changes in skin color.

Serious Side Effects:

• Allergic reactions: Although rare, a serious allergic reaction to Dermasone ointment can occur. Seek immediate medical help if you experience symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing

Pregnancy and breastfeeding require caution. If pregnant, only use Dermasone when absolutely necessary and discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. While the impact on breastfeeding is unknown for topical application, similar medications can pass into breast milk when taken orally. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding while using Dermasone.
