Anbesol Maximum Strength Gel (Benzocaine - non Rx)

• Adults and children 2 years and older: Apply a pea-sized amount directly to the affected area up to 4 times daily or as directed by a doctor or dentist.
• Children under 12 years: Use under adult supervision.
• Children under 2 years: Do not use.

For denture irritation:

• Apply a thin layer to the affected area.
• Do not reinsert dental appliances until pain is relieved.
• Rinse mouth well before reinserting.

Important: To open the tube, cut the tip at the score mark with scissors.

Methemoglobinemia Warning

Anbesol Maximum Strength Gel contains Benzocaine, which may cause methemoglobinemia, a rare but serious condition that affects oxygen levels in the blood. Stop use immediately and seek medical attention if you experience:

• Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin (cyanosis)
• Headache
• Rapid heart rate
• Shortness of breath
• Dizziness or fatigue

Allergy Alert

Do not use Anbesol Maximum Strength Gel if you are allergic to Benzocaine or other local anesthetics like procaine, butacaine, or tetracaine.

Do Not Use

• For teething in infants
• In children under 2 years of age

When Using This Product

• Avoid contact with the eyes.
• Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
• Do not use for more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor.

Stop Use and Ask a Doctor If

• Symptoms do not improve within 7 days.
• Pain, irritation, or redness persists or worsens.
• Swelling, rash, or fever develops.

Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
