Aggrenox is a prescription medication that is specifically indicated for reducing the risk of stroke in people who have already had a stroke or a transient ischemic attack (TIA), also known as a mini-stroke.

Both strokes and TIAs are caused by blood clots blocking blood flow to the brain.

The combination of aspirin and dipyridamole in Aggrenox is classified as an antiplatelet therapy. It helps to prevent the formation of blood clots by inhibiting platelet aggregation. By reducing platelet clumping, Aggrenox helps to keep blood flowing smoothly and prevents the formation of clots that could potentially block blood vessels and lead to a stroke.
