What is Metabolism?
Metabolism is the number of calories your body burns to maintain itself. There are 3 different types of metabolism. Everyone has a different metabolic type, but they all fall somewhere on a spectrum between low and high metabolic types.
What Is My Metabolic Type and How Can I Perfect It?
People with low types of Metabolism are called Endomorphs
Endomorphs are low metabolic types
High metabolism and low metabolism are the simplest metabolism types. Endomorphs (carb-converting energy type) are people who have a low metabolism. With these metabolic body types, people find it easy to gain weight. In order to balance their metabolism, these carb-converting energy-type metabolism groups can start by drinking more water and eating smaller-sized meals more frequently. Meals should consist of plenty of lean protein, whole wheat products, and fruits and veggies. Exercise is crucial if you have this body type.
Mesomorphs: Mixed Signal Metabolism
The perfect bodies - women with the natural hourglass shape, and men with natural muscle tone – are referred to as mesomorphs. These people with mixed signal metabolism have a healthy metabolism that burns just the right amount of fat. People with this type of metabolism can easily gain muscle and lose weight without much effort. Despite their physical advantage, mesomorphs can become overweight if they do not get enough exercise and nutrition.
People with high metabolism are called Ectomorphs.
Lastly, there are those with a high metabolism. Ectomorphs are people who are slim and petite. They have lean muscle and are often curve-less and have a flat chest with a low amount of body fat. This body type makes it difficult to gain weight, fat, or muscle. People with types of metabolism are not at risk of obesity, but they do need to keep a healthy diet and exercise a lot to keep good overall health.
