Incruse Ellipta (Umeclidinium Bromide)

Do's

• Inhale Incruse Ellipta by mouth as directed by your healthcare provider, usually once daily. 
• Use Incruse Ellipta regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time every day. 
• Wait at least 1 minute between the use of each medication if using other inhalers simultaneously. 
• Learn which of your inhalers you should use every day and which you should use if your breathing suddenly worsens (quick-relief drugs).  
• Ask your healthcare provider ahead of time what you should do if you have new or worsening cough or shortness of breath, wheezing, increased sputum, waking up at night with trouble breathing, if you use your quick-relief inhaler more often, or if your quick-relief inhaler does not seem to be working well.  
• Learn when you can treat sudden breathing problems by yourself and when you must get medical help right away.   

Don'ts

• Do not open the cover of the inhaler until you are ready to use it. Each time you open the cover, you prepare a dose of the medication. If you open and close the cover without inhaling the medication, you will lose the dose. 
• Do not close the cover until after you have inhaled the medication to avoid wasting the dose. You may or may not taste/feel the drug when you inhale. 
• Do not exhale into the device. 
• Do not use it more than one time each day.  
• Do not increase your dose, use this medication more often, or stop using it without first consulting your healthcare provider. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of side effects will increase.

Common Side Effects:

• Cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, and cough
• Fast or irregular heartbeats
• Bruising or darkened skin
• Mouth pain or tooth pain
• Muscle or joint pain
• Stomach pain
• Altered sense of taste

Serious Side Effects

• Paradoxical bronchospasm
• Eye problems, such as glaucoma
• Severe allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling (especially of the face, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
• Urinary retention
• difficulty urinating or urinary retention.

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking  Incruse ellipta,  contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Disclose any allergies, including to milk proteins, to your healthcare provider. This is crucial to avoid potential allergic reactions.

Inform your healthcare provider of your medical history, especially:

• Personal or family history of angle-closure glaucoma: This type of glaucoma can worsen with this medication.
• Difficulty urinating: This medication can worsen urinary problems in some individuals.

Before undergoing surgery or dental procedures, create a complete list of all medications you use (prescription, non-prescription, and herbal) and share it with your healthcare provider or dentist. This helps them make informed decisions about your care.

If you are pregnant or considering pregnancy, discuss the risks and benefits of using Incruse Ellipta with your healthcare provider. It should only be used when clearly necessary.

If you are breastfeeding or considering breastfeeding, consult your healthcare provider before using Incruse Ellipta. It is unknown if the medication passes into breast milk.
