Do’s

• Have Cantharidin applied by a healthcare provider only. This medication is potent and requires proper application to be effective and safe.

• Avoid touching, biting, or licking the treated area.

Common side effects of Cantharone topical liquid may include:

• Skin irritation, redness, or blistering at the application site
• Pain or discomfort at the application site
• Itching or burning sensation

Serious side effects of Cantharone topical liquid are rare, but they may include:

• Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing
• Ulceration of the gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts, although this is more commonly associated with oral ingestion of cantharidin
• Electrolyte and renal function disturbances, although these are also more commonly associated with oral ingestion of cantharidin
