Noxafil (Posaconazole)

Indication : Noxafil is a medication used to fight specific infections caused by fungus. Noxafil is an anti fungal medication that fights fungal infections in people with weak immune systems as a result of chemotherapy or stem cell transplantation. Storage : Store Noxafil at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light. Product Information : General Information : Precaution : Certain conditions may interfere with the medicinal efficiency of Noxafil. Tell your doctor if you have a personal or family history of Long QT syndrome, a history of allergy to anti-fungal medications, liver disease, or a heart rhythm disorder. Before taking Noxafil, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether Noxafil passes into breast milk or if it can harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding a baby before taking this medication. Take Noxafil for the entire length of time it was prescribed to you. Your symptoms may get better before the infection goes away completely. Noxafil will not treat a viral infection. Noxafil may not be as effective if you if you have ongoing vomiting or diarrhea. Call your doctor if you are experiencing these symptoms. Tell your doctor about any prescription or non prescription medications you are using before taking Noxafil. Warnings : Follow your doctor's instructions about restrictions on food, beverages, or activity that you engage in while using Noxafil. Patient Family Information  : Take Noxafil as it was prescribed for you. Do not take it more often than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Noxafil is most effective if you take it within 20 minutes after a meal or a nutritional supplement. If you are using liquid Noxafil, shake the liquid well before you measure a dose. Use a properly marked medicine spoor or cup to be sure you get the right dose. Your pharmacist can supply you with a proper measuring device. Your blood will have to be tested on a regular basis to be sure this medication is working for you. Do not miss any scheduled appointments. Take this medication for the entire prescribed time. Contraindication : Do not use Noxafil if you are allergic to posaconazole or if you use any of these drugs: Halfan, Orap, Cardioquin, Quinidex, Quinaglute, Sansert, Ergomar, Ergostat, Cafergot, Ercaf, Wigraine, D.H.E 45, Migranal Nasal Spray, Ergotrate, or Methergine. Sever Side Effects : Seek emergency medical attention if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor if you have any of these serious side effects to Noxafil: pale skin Common Side Effects : Less serious side effects include: mild headache, tired feeling, joint or muscle pain, sleep problems, mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, or skin rash.
