Cutivate Cream (Fluticasone)

Do:

• Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before and after applying Cutivate Cream, unless treating your hands.
• Clean and dry the affected skin area before applying the cream.
• Apply a thin film of the cream to the affected area and rub it in gently, following your healthcare provider's instructions on frequency (usually once or twice daily).
• Inform your healthcare provider if your skin condition doesn't improve within 2 weeks of using Cutivate Cream or if it worsens.

Don't

• Don't apply Cutivate Cream to your face, groin, or underarms unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
• Don't use Cutivate Cream on diaper rash without consulting your healthcare provider.
• Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If the cream gets in these areas, rinse thoroughly with water.
• Don't bandage, cover, or wrap the treated area unless directed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't use more cream than prescribed, apply it more often, or use it for longer than recommended.
• Don't share Cutivate Cream with others.

Common side effects may include:

• Temporary skin irritation, including stinging or burning at the application site

Serious side effects that may require immediate medical attention include:

• Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, and trouble breathing.
• Skin problems, including skin reactions or thinning of the skin (atrophy), skin infections, and allergic reactions (allergic contact dermatitis) at the treatment site
• Vision problems, including an increased risk of developing cataracts and glaucoma.
• Other serious side effects, such as weight gain (especially in the face or upper back and torso), thinning or discolored skin, increased body hair, muscle weakness, nausea, diarrhea, tiredness, mood changes, menstrual changes, and sexual changes

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Cutivate cream,  contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Tell your healthcare provider about any allergies, especially to fluticasone or formaldehyde (an inactive ingredient).

Medical history: Inform your healthcare provider if you have:

• Poor blood circulation
• Diabetes
• Immune system problems

Cutivate Cream may worsen skin infections. Tell your healthcare provider if you have one or if your skin condition doesn't improve.

Using Cutivate Cream for a long time or on large areas of skin can weaken your body's response to stress. Inform your healthcare provider before surgery, emergency treatment, or during serious illness/injury.

Long-term use in children may slow growth. Regular healthcare provider visits to monitor height are recommended.

Discuss the risks and benefits of using Cutivate Cream with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding as it's unknown if the medication passes into breast milk.
