Robaxin (Methocarbamol)

Do's

• Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your healthcare provider. Do not increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed. Doing so will not improve your condition any faster and may increase the risk of side effects.
• Robaxin injection is typically injected into a muscle or given as an infusion into a vein. A healthcare provider will administer this injection. The injection is usually given as a single dose before you start taking the oral form. If you experience any burning, pain, or swelling around the IV needle during the injection, inform your healthcare provider.
• The dosage of Robaxin is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate dosage for you. 
• Communicate with your healthcare provider if your condition does not improve or if it worsens while taking Robaxin. They may need to reassess your treatment plan based on your progress.

Common Side Effects:

• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Lightheadedness
• Stomach upset
• Nausea/vomiting
• Blurred vision
• Double vision
• Fever
• Confusion
• Problems with memory
• Flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling)
• Sleep problems (insomnia)
• Lack of coordination

Serious Side Effects:

• Allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
• Light-headed feeling, like you might pass out
• Slow heartbeats
• Seizures
• Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
• Pain, bruising, swelling, or skin changes where the injection was given

This is not a complete list of side effects, and others may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare provider promptly. Seek emergency medical help if signs of an allergic reaction to Robaxin are experienced.

Do not use Robaxin if you are allergic to methocarbamol.

Inform your healthcare provider if you have myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder, as caution should be exercised when using Robaxin in such cases.

Robaxin may impair your thinking or reactions. Be cautious when driving or engaging in activities that require alertness. Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of this medicine.

Robaxin may harm an unborn baby. Use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy, and inform your healthcare provider if you become pregnant. It may not be safe to breastfeed while using this medicine. Consult your healthcare provider regarding any potential risks.

Robaxin may interact with other medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the drugs you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal products, to avoid potential interactions.
