Sandoz-K (Potassium Chloride)

1. Potassium chloride is a salt that can be found naturally in many foods, including meats, fruits, and vegetables. It’s also available as a supplement and as a medication. 
2. Potassium chloride supplements are used to treat or prevent low potassium levels. Low potassium levels can occur when you lose too much fluid or don’t eat enough potassium-rich foods. Medications containing potassium chloride are used to treat high blood pressure and heart arrhythmias.
3. Sandoz-K (Potassium Chloride) is used to prevent or treat low potassium levels in the blood (hypokalemia). Potassium levels can fall due to sickness, the use of certain medications, or a lengthy illness characterized by diarrhea or vomiting. 
4. Sandoz-K (Potassium Chloride) is also used as an electrolyte replenisher in medicine. 
5. Potassium chloride can be used as a fertilizer, as it is one of the main potassium-containing salts of potash. In industry, potassium chloride is a starting material to produce other potassium compounds, such as potassium hydroxide and potassium metal. 

• Acute inflammation of the throat; 
• Stomach bloating, vomiting, and severe stomach discomfort. 
• High potassium levels can cause nausea, weakness, tingling sensations, chest pain, irregular heartbeats, and lack of movement. 
• Bloody or tarry stools, coughing up blood, or vomit that looks like coffee grounds are all symptoms of stomach bleeding. 

• Nauseousness, vomiting, and diarrhea 
• Gastrointestinal discomfort 
• The presence of a potassium chloride pill in your feces 

• A diuretic, also known as a 'water pill'  
• Medication for the heart or blood pressure. 

• If you have excessive amounts of potassium in your blood (hyperkalemia) or are on a "potassium-sparing" diuretic, you should avoid using Sandoz-K (Potassium Chloride). 
• Your blood may need to be tested frequently to ensure that Sandoz-K (Potassium Chloride) improves your condition. 
• Your heart rate may also be monitored using an electrocardiograph, generally known as an ECG (or EKG), which measures electrical activity in the heart. This test will assist your doctor in determining how long you should be treated with potassium. Keep all planned appointments. 
• Potassium's serious side effects include irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness or limpness, severe stomach pain, and numbness or tingling in your hands, feet, or mouth. Do not discontinue this medication without first consulting your doctor. 
• If you stop taking this medication abruptly, your illness may worsen. 
• An extended-release pill or capsule should not be crushed, chewed, broken, or sucked. Take the pill whole. If the tablet is broken or crushed, too much medication may be released immediately. Sucking on a pill might cause mouth and throat irritation. Take Sandoz-K (Potassium Chloride) with or immediately after eating.
